The following questions are designed to help you think about or remember a change that you had forgotten about or didn’t think was important and share with your healthcare professional. It is very important to talk to your healthcare professional about these issues, they can help ensure you get the treatment you need.

  3. Are your clothes or jewellery, such as rings and watches, looser than normal?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions discuss your concerns with your healthcare professional who may help you make changes to your current diet or suggest nutritional supplements.

  2. How much weight have you lost as a percentage of your total body weight?

    Your BMI is just an indication, it’s important to make sure you’re not loosing too much weight without intending to. Enter the weight you were, 3 to 6 months ago, and the weight you are now, to see how much you have lost as a % of your total weight.

Speak to your healthcare professional - NICE guidelines recommend that you should be considered for nutrition support if:

  • Your BMI is less than 18.5
  • You have lost more than 10% of your weight in the past 3 to 6 months without trying
  • Your BMI is less than 20 and you have lost more than 5% of your weight over the past 3 to 6 months without trying.
