Cancer Awareness Day 2008

On the 16th November 2008, 1pm, at the Londesborough Room, Alexandra Palace, North London, the 5th annual awareness day is taking place.This event is being run by the Pro Cancer Research Fund and is in its 5th year and is set to be the biggest by far.

At the event their will be an Expert Panel which will be part of a Q&A session. The Expert panel consists of Healthcare Professionals with varied expertise, so any question is welcome!

The expert panel includes:

  • Mr Kelami Dedezade: Chairman and discussion leader
  • Dr Hifziye Dodd: Consultant Dermatologist
  • Mr Anup Patel: Consultant Urological Surgeon, St Mary's and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals, London
  • Dr Muge Trak: Consultant Psychologist, St George's Hospital, London
  • Prof Mustafa B A Djamgoz: Professor of Cancer Biology, Imperial College London
  • Dr. Robert Delgado: Mtech: Chiro (SA) MAO, Chiropractor Optimum Health
  • Meredy Pritchard: Senior Specialist Dietician

PCRF ‘Drop In Centre' / Alternative Therapies

PCRF Research focus is unique and exploits the immense wealth of knowledge from neuroscience. A major aim is to understand how specific surface membrane ion-channel proteins of cancer cells differ from those of normal cells. These differences can then be used to detect and eliminate malignancy

North Cyprus Orchid Walk 2009

North Cyprus Orchid Walk 2009 ‘Shensev Project': A wonderful event in the beautiful sunny island of Cyprus where there is an abundance of wild orchids. We walk in the mountains and make new friends and make a difference by raising much needed funds for a special charity.

Each participant registers by completing an application form and a £50 non-refundable deposit. They must then raise a minimum of £1200 to join the walk. We will be flying out on 19th February 2009 and returning on 26th February 2009 and the walk will take place on Sunday 22nd February 2009. Enfield Over 50's ForumNon-political organisation open to all Over 50s in the Borough of Enfield and to those groups supporting older people. Through the Forum members can make their views known to MPs, the Local Council, the Enfield Strategic Partnership and other bodies who take decisions that impact on the lives of the local community. We believe that by working in partnership with others we can make Enfield a better place for all and improve the quality of life for its senior citizens.
