3rd Mouth Cancer Walk
The 3rd Mouth Cancer Walk is on Saturday September 20th in Hyde Park, London. Last year the walk raised £25,000, and this hard-walked money goes towards raising awareness of mouth cancer and supporting people with mouth, throat and other head and neck cancers. Dr Vinod Joshi, founder and chief executive of the Mouth Cancer Foundation, writes: "Our wish is that this event is embraced by the entire Dental profession as their annual big charity event". It is free to take part, and there will be free mouth cancer screening available on the day. Participants get a T-shirt, medal and goodie bag for taking part. Registration is at 13:00 for a 14:00 start to allow participants to do the walk and return home the same day by train/bus from most areas in England and Wales without having to stay overnight in London.
The Mouth Cancer Foundation plays a pivotal role in counselling and supporting patients and families who have to go through the horrors of mouth cancer. Without them there would be no support for mouth cancer sufferers. It is vital that the charity can continue to support those that need them. Nutrition in Cancer is pleased to be a sponsor for this event and hopes to support it not and in the future.
