My mother has just been diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes, they are not sure yet if it is the slow progressing one or the fast. What I want to know is, my mother is 83 is she considered too old for chemo. She has always been a fighter, having a double heart by-pass two and a half years ago and came through that with flying colours. Is there a cut off age for treatment.

I would like to know which foods and/supplements would benefit my husband following lymph gland removal. I know that antioxidants would be beneficial along with foods with antioxidant properties. Can you give me any further advice also for nutritional needs during chemotherapy should he be advised to have this treatment.

I have now been put on Valcade and Dexamethasone. I replapsed after 7 months after having Thalidomide. Paraprotein shot up from 7 after treatment to 26. Question is if I take Floradix to try to keep up my white blood cells would it interfere with my Chemo ? Or would I be wasting my time. Any particular foods I could home on? I know liver is good and Watercress but it is not available where I am. Red meat I know but I am not a big meat eater.

I am undergoing chemotherapy for the above and have been advised to keep my calorie intake up as much as possible. My appetite is variable. My albumen is low and I am suffering a fair bit from ascites. How do I keep my system boosted, without overtaxing my liver?
